Our goal from the start has been to offer a full-circle ;lifestyle approach to combatting arthritis and other causes of joint pain, because we know firsthand how painful and debilitating these experiences can be.

But today, we’re focusing exclusively on a star player for fighting joint pain and inflammation — Green Lipped Mussel Oil. A new study, published in 2017 by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, offers some of the most definitive evidence yet that GLX3 works to fight arthritis, based on the specific formula we use in our supplement. The study is called “Green lipped mussel oil complex suppresses lipopolysaccharide stimulated inflammation . . .” and here we’ve broken down its findings to sav you the trouble of reading the entire thing.

Before we dive into the specifics, let’s define some terms:

• GLMOC: GLMOC is an acronym for Green Lipped Mussel Oil Complex. The complex is comprised of Green Lipped Mussel Oil, Vitamin E Oil, and Olive Oil. This is the formula that GLX3 uses for our ground-breaking supplement.
• GLMO: Green Lipped Mussel Oil, the base of the supplement used in the study.

What exactly does this study suggest?

In succinct terms, the study concluded that GLMOC effectively works to hinder the release of inflammation-causing compounds into the body. “The increased amount of fatty acids by hydrolysis of triglycerides from GLMO and fish oils significantly increased the activity in suppressing the COX-1 and -2 activity, suggesting that the role of GLMO on inflammation is mainly due to the significant amounts of PUFAs,” as the study says in its uber-scientific manner.

This is exciting on so many levels that we can barely contain ourselves. First, this is the first study that we know of that specifically tested our exact formula in a scientifically controlled setting, and that passed the scientific review to the point of being published by the National Library of Medicine. While other studies have hinted at the conclusions, this is the big one we’ve been waiting for.

Additionally, it goes beyond what we already knew about Green Lipped Mussel — that it helped the Maori people of New Zealand minimize arthritis and keep joint pain and inflammation to a minimum. As much as we’d love to fly every one of our users down to New Zealand to dine on Green Lipped Mussel on a dock by the seashore, that isn’t feasible. This study shows that we’re doing the next best thing, by bottling those benefits and shipping them right to your door.

And, lastly, the in even bigger news, the study provided evidence that our formula is actually more effective that Green Lipped Mussel on its own. “Interestingly, however,” the study said,  “the administration of fish oil did not show beneficial efficacy in preventing the development of arthritis and ameliorating the symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, whereas GLMO was found to be effective in both animal models.”

What does this mean for you?

In short, this study means that you can rest easy knowing that by using GLX3, you are taking a scientifically documented step towards cutting joint pain and inflammation from your daily life. While it’s certainly not the end-all-be-all (no supplement is a miracle drug), it can help assist a healthy lifestyle and other actions as recommended by your doctor. 

This isn’t the first evidence we’ve seen to suggest this. We wouldn’t have bothered to build and sell a supplement without any basis of knowledge. The writers of the report used scientific terms, but the conclusions were so straightforward that it doesn’t take a scientist to understand them. “GLMO was responsible for anti-inflammatory efficacy,” the study boldly proclaimed. “Taken together, GLMOC induces anti-inflammatory activity via regulating NF-κB and MAPK signaling in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 cells, providing underlying mechanisms that elucidate the anti-inflammatory efficacy of GLMOC.”
